This AE86 reminded me why these cars are an absolute trip. Automotive history owes a lot to these cars and what they’ve done for grassroots and professional racing. I’ve gotten to take this car around the track a few times to see why and it makes sense, they are an absolute blast. Originally an All-White Zenki early model 86, the car’s front and rear were converted to to the Kouki facelift and then painted to the panda white and black it is now. The car was most certainly a weekend track car, but still remains very easy to drive on the street once getting used to the stiffer suspension. The struts are converted to coilovers with weld-on sleeves, a very common mod amongst 86 racers. The shocks are Bilstein short strokes, providing a very low to ground geometry common among 86 track cars. The car has a full race exhaust system, with JASMA headers all the way to the twin tipped muffler, making this ae86 sound amazing. Other than the intake filter the engine remains mostly unmodified, and cranks right up, idling perfectly. The wheels are the famous Watanabe models featured on most AE86’s, fitting OE Size tires. Inside the car features a full 7 point roll cage, Recaro Bucket Seat, and Schroth harness. Great for track and show usage.
