1996 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV GSR VARIS

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, commonly referred to as 'Evo', is a sports sedan based on the Lancer that was manufactured by Japanese manufacturer Mitsubishi Motors from 1992 until 2016. There have been ten official versions to date, all use two litre turbocharged inline four-cylinder engines and all-wheel drive systems.

There were two versions of the Evo IV available, the RS and GSR. The GSR and the RS shared a new twin scroll turbocharger which helped to improve response and increase power to 280 PS (206 kW; 276 hp) at 6,500 rpm and 330 N⋅m (243 lb⋅ft) torque at 4,000 rpm. Mitsubishi's new Active Yaw Control appeared as a factory standard on the GSR model, which used steering, throttle input sensors and g sensors to computer-hydraulically control torque split individually to the rear wheels. As a result, the 10,000 Evolution IVs produced all sold quickly.

This Evo features a full body kit produced by produced by VARIS in Japan. It is a Time Attack purpose body kit complete with Front Bumper, Carbon Fiber Ducts, Carbon Fiber Vented Hood, and Carbon Fiber Trunk. The kit retails for over $4600 and easily stands above the majority of Evo aero kits. The interior of this Evo IV is somewhat unique in that they have removed all of the factory red plaid that plagues the Evo IV interior from the factory by switching the Recaro Seats with uncolored ones, reupholstering the door cards with black fabric, and replacing the rear seat with one out of a CP9A (Evo V or VI). In my personal opinion the black is a better look. It also features a Bolt In Roll Cage by Cusco, a Momo Steering Wheel, some checkered floor mats for styling, and other small appearance changes.

Engine modifications are limited to some HKS Parts such as an Intake and Suction Kit (Filter and Piping) as well as an Exhaust System. The engine bay has also been dressed up with a Cusco Strut Tower Bar and ARC Manifold Heat Shield.
